Negotiation and Mediation are alternative way to resolve a conflict

Conflict in social life represents a fact. The level of conflict’s escalation is different each other. Various techniques are used to resolve conflicts which it depend on intensity of generated impact. Many kinds of conflict that happened in Indonesia are in general, such as vertical conflict: government versus citizen, labour versus employer; and horizontal conflict: intertribal, interfaith, between society etc. The background of these conflicts can be economic, politics, power, and other importance. Moreover cause of conflict is very complex and is not single character, its background and dimension. Hence, it is required comprehensive approach and handling from various bands so that grow on its problems can overcome completely and fair.
However, a relation, in harmonious condition, sometime faces dispute that is quite difficult to be avoided. The core of dispute is conflict, which can happen every moment, either through group and also individual. In the end, it can be a problem which is organized to be a dispute. Therefore, negotiation’s ability in social life is a skill that is very important to be handed by actors. Negotiation is a process started when one party assume that other party have different view, attitude, ascription to things representing caring of other party (Syamsuddin 2004).
